Grounded in my family’s history of forced displacement from China and Vietnam, this continuing body of work examines the broader Sino-Vietnamese diaspora through my lens as a 1.5-generation immigrant (someone who was born in a foreign country and migrated to a new host country during childhood). By investigating the gaps between official historical documentation and lived oral traditions, the work generates new narratives that unpack complex cultural roots.
